Adelaide Tour - Advance Notice

Hi everyone,

Just a short note to let you all know - and esp those of you in South Australia - that I'm planning to come to Adelaide in November.

Booked so far are a SCALA Original Showcase gig on Saturday 17th and a SCALA "Join Us" Workshop, Tuesday 20th November. Both will be held at The Joiners Arms, 9 Manton St, Hindmarsh

SCALA are the Songwriters, Composers & Lyricists Association, a much respected organisation who run weekly original showcase gigs and monthly workshops.

It's been a very long time since I've played a gig in Adelaide - I think the last time would've been Adelaide or Flinders Uni or maybe a Fringe Fest gig with Wild Pumpkins in the late 80's. It'll be really interesting to see who shows up!!!

Keep watching - there'll be more to add in the coming weeks.

Take care,

Debra

PS: Hope to have a full (and detailed) list of Melb dates finalised by next week!

Too Long Between Posts!

I guess this is what happens when life gets in the way!

I've been so busy getting a tour together for Melbourne in October, teaching, running workshops and staying warm that some things got a little neglected this winter - apologies!

Melbourne

I'm heading off to Melb & King Island again in October. A full list of gigs & workshops will be posted here and on the MySpace page once it's all finalised.

Confirmed so far, Thurs 11th Oct Lomond Hotel (with the wonderful Tonchi Tosh) Frid 12th Oct Acoustica in the Gallery, City Library (lunchtime gig) and Sunday 14th Oct Whole Gamut Acoustic Music Club @ The Brunswick Hotel.

Really looking forward to this trip as I haven't been away for a while. I don't know about you, but winter always makes me think of travel to warmer climes - even if it's only across Bass Strait!

More Travel?

Interestingly this winter, I've also been looking seriously at the prospect of heading off to the US for a few weeks in '08. It seems that I have quite a few fans there and I'm exploring the idea of running some specialist workshops in the eastern US and maybe doing some intimate coffeehouse gigs too. If any of you have knowledge of good intimate spaces/shows you think would be appropriate (esp in the New England area) please let me know. I'll keep you posted here and on the MySpace page.

Meanwhile, I discovered this today while looking at potential US festivals. Those of you who know me well enough to share a meal, know how much I love chili in all it's wonderous, flavoursome forms..... well, I think I've found my nirvana in the National Chile Pepper Food Festival in Bowers PA. This year will be the 12th annual festival so it's obviously a popular event.

And this is Slim, winner of the 2006 National Jalapeno Eating Contest. I think he's awesome and I love his firey chili waistcoat!

Take care and love to you all,

Debra
